What is a storytelling print?
Our storytelling prints are beautifully illustrated worlds, full of characters, places and hidden details that become prompts to create endless stories.
How do we use it to make up stories?
Choose a character or detail that catches your eye. Who are they? Where are they going? What might happen next? Follow your child’s ideas, add a few of your own and see where the story takes you. You can take turns or let one person tell the tale. There is no right or wrong way to begin!
Can children enjoy them independently?
Yes! Children can also explore the characters and hidden details at their own pace, imagining stories quietly or telling them aloud.
We've also seen great enjoyment in siblings creating stories together.
Who are the prints for?
Our prints are designed to inspire children and their grown-ups to create stories together. Younger children might begin by spotting characters or counting details, while older children can create stories, becoming more elaborate as they grow.
They’re also a helpful starting point for grown-ups when asked, “Can you make up a story?”
What size are the prints?
They measure 50x70cm (approximately 19.7×27.6 inches) and will fit in a standard 50x70cm frame.
Where are the prints made?
Our prints are printed in England on thick, 250gsm uncoated, FSC®-certified paper.
Does my print come framed?
The prints come carefully rolled in tissue paper inside a branded Time for tales tube.
How do I display my print?
You can display your print in a standard 50×70 cm frame or use a magnetic poster hanger suitable for a 50cm wide print. Choose a spot where your child can easily see the details and explore the scene. To help preserve the colours, keep it away from direct sunlight.
Always follow the frame manufacturer's instructions when hanging your frame.
Do you have any frame recommendations?
If you'd like to frame your print, you'll need a 50x70cm frame. These are a standard frame size and available from many stores.
Or if you'd like something a little special, we have partnered with handmade framers, eFrame, who have kindly offered Time for Tales customers a 10% discount. Shop 50x70cm frames here and enter timefortales10 at checkout.
